Smoothies are a really easy way to increase your vitamin- and mineral intake!
They can easily replace one or two servings of fruit/ vegetables and thus can make it easier for some people to eat enough vital micronutrients.
Like everything in life, you shouldn’t go overboard with smoothies and still eat salads, vegetables, and fruit like they are – but 3-4 smoothies a week are a great idea!
If you’re worried about some of the bad reputation smoothies are getting I can assure you that most of that criticism is based on store-bought smoothies.
These are often fortified with fruit juice (which isn’t as nutritious), sugar & other additives to keep them fresh. They sit on the shelf for several days or even weeks and lose nutrients in the process.
This is not a fair comparison to freshly made smoothies consisting of organic fruits and vegetables!
So go ahead and make some of the smoothies below to keep your body healthy! ♥︎
