Coffee lovers raise your hands …
These little guys right here are absolutely perfect for everyone who likes coffee.
A soft, chocolatey coffee treat that’s keto-friendly and low in calories – say no more and gimme!
I’m definitely one of those hopeless souls who can’t do anything in the morning before I had my coffee.
Thankfully, I don’t even have to make it myself because my boyfriend is always awake before me and makes one for me too.
Waking up and having a cup of coffee already made, that’s what dreams are made of – right?
These chocolatey coffee fat bombs are perfect for every time of the day – not only in the morning.
Because they contain only a small amount of caffeine (you can also use decaffeinated coffee if you want to skip the caffeine completely) you can enjoy them in the evening as well.
I learned to love the taste of coffee and I also love coffee treats, that’s why I eat these little guys whenever I feel like it.
Sometimes I even have one while I drink my coffee in the morning. 😛

COFFEE KETO FAT BOMBS INGREDIENTS:
(You can find the exact amounts needed in the recipe card at the end of this post!
The recipe yields only 4 fat bombs because I think it gets boring to eat the same fat bombs every day.
But of course, you can double the recipe if you want a bigger batch!)
if you only want the taste of the coffee but no added caffeine, use decaffeinated instant coffee
I used softened butter for this recipe, but you can easily turn it vegan and paleo by switching the butter with coconut oil.
I highly recommend using coconut oil instead of liquid plant oils because the fat bombs won’t stay in shape if you use liquid oil.
Butter and coconut oil both harden at cold temperatures and this in turn keeps the fat bomb from turning into a shapeless puddle.
the almond flour will bring additional texture to the fat bombs.
in my opinion, the BEST keto-friendly sweetener.
– it doesn’t spike your blood sugar,
– it’s completely safe and
– has a very fresh & natural sweet taste.
Because of it’s natural origin and natural production process (fermentation by a certain kind of yeast) I also consider erythritol to be paleo-friendly!
Even though I’m a bit biased towards erythritol, you can use other granulated keto-friendly sweeteners that won’t spike your blood sugar as well, but be aware that you may have to add more or less sweetener if you do so.
Erythritol is about 70% as sweet as sugar whereas other keto-friendly sweeteners like monk fruit and stevia are much sweeter than sugar.
Simply taste a tiny amount of the fat bomb mass before oversweetening it and adjust accordingly.
dutch processed cacoa powder has a strong chocolate taste and because of that it’s ideal for low carb baking.
You only need a very tiny amount to make chocolate keto treats.
HOW TO MAKE COFFEE KETO FAT BOMBS:
1. Solve the instant coffee:
Solve the instant coffee in hot water.
2. Mix all of the ingredients:
Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl until you get a smooth mass.
Chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
3. Form the “coffee beans”:
Separate the chilled mass into 4 equal parts.
Roll the mass in between your hands until you get small balls.
You can stop right here and just eat the balls or you can shape them into small “coffee beans”.
This is just for fun and you absolutely can skip this step, but if you want to turn them into a coffee bean shape, roll the ball into an oval “bean” shape and press the backside of a knife into the middle of the bean.
Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before enjoying them.
4. Serve:
Enjoy after they have chilled long enough in the fridge.
Cover with plastic wrap and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
They may loose some moisture throughout the storage process, that’s why I recommend to eat them as soon as possible.
WATCH VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS:
Video shows my raspberry keto fat bombs but the instructions are very similar!
(Video moves to the top of the post on desktop.)
Nutrition Info:
One ball has 0.3g net carbs (0.9g total carbs and 0.6g dietary fiber), 3.4g fat, 1.7g protein, and 40 calories.
How do you include Erythritol in your calculations?
The short answer is: I don’t, and I can tell you why.

Erythritol is a sugar alcohol which your body can’t digest.

If you ingest it, it won’t spike your blood sugar & it won’t release insulin (which is a good thing if you want to stay in ketosis).
It passes through our system basically “untouched”.
Because of this, you can subtract the carbs from erythritol completely, which is what I always do.
(I try to be as accurate as possible with this information, but values may vary because of natural occurring fluctuations and different products used.)
